Australia's Dylan Alcott has completed his 'Golden Slam', following a straight-sets victory over Niels Vink in the US Open final.

Fresh of a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, the 30-year-old wheelchair tennis superstar proved too good for the Dutchman at Flushing Meadows, winning the clash 7-5, 6-2.

"I can't believe I just won the Golden Slam," he said after the win.

"I used to hate myself so much, I hated my disability, I didn't even want to be here any more. I found tennis and it changed and saved my life.

"Now I've become the only male ever in any form of tennis to win the Golden Slam which is pretty cool."

The victory makes him the first male tennis player to ever complete a Golden Slam, with only one player - Steffi Graff - to complete the enormous feat, all the way back in 1988.

Alcott wasn't the only player to achieve this at the US Open however, with female wheelchair star Diede de Groot winning her final and completing the Golden Slam.
