Sydney sider Alex De Minaur progressed to the semi-finals of the Shenzhen Open with a 6-3 7-6 (9-7) victory over Damir Dzumhur, while Bernard Tomic also joined the winners’ circle.
De Minaur, who has already featured in three semi-finals in 2018, will take on Pierre-Hugues Herbert for a place in the final.
The impressive Aussie defeated Herbert in the second round at Wimbledon this year in his only meeting with the Frenchman.
Tomic also made it through the semis at the Chengdu Open with a 6-2 6-4 victory over Canadian teenager Felix Auger-Aliassime.

It is Tomic’s second semi-final appearance of a tumultuous 2018 campaign and continues his late-season resurgence.
The world No.123 will meet Joao Sousa in the next round.
Meanwhile, Barty’s run at the Wuhan Open ended with a 7-6 (7-2) 6-4 semi-final loss to Aryna Sabalenka.
