London commuters were left stunned as tennis royalty Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic rode the Underground on Friday night.

Eight of the world’s top ten took the Tube to Westminster station to launch the ATP Finals at the English Houses of Parliament.

Kei Nishikori, Dominic Thiem, John Isner, Kevin Anderson, Marin Cilic and Alexander Zverev joined Federer and Djovokic on the publicity stunt, with all set to compete in the tournament.

"Although we've probably all ridden on the tube a time or two, this was very different. It's a very cool way to make an entrance," World No.10, John Isner said.

"There were quite a few surprised looks on the faces of folks, especially when Roger and Novak walked by. It was a pretty cool treat for them."

Finals event director Adam Hogg posted the photo on Twitter, with Federer taking the selfie on the busy Jubilee Line.

The ATP Finals is the second highest tier of men's tennis tournament after the four Grand Slams. The tournament is played each November at the O2 Arena in London.

Concluding the ATP World Tour, the competition only features the world's best eight qualified singles players and doubles teams.

After winning his ninth Swiss Indoors Basel crown, Roger Federer enters the tournament just one victory away from his 100th career title.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion is competing in the ATP Finals for the 15th time, taking out one Grand Slam and three ATP Masters titles in 2018.

The ATP Finals marks the completion of the 2018 World Tour, taking place from November 11-18 in London.
