Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has shown off his basketball skills during the Sydney Kings' Starlight Celebrity Game on Sunday.

Lining up for a side captained by 2GB radio host Ben Fordham, Kyrgios didn't hold back against his opponents lead by New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet.

The 26-year-old, who has enjoyed a resurgent 2022 on the tennis court, is a big basketball fan and has admitted he plays the game whenever he can.

That passion was on full display at Qudos Bank Arena as he guided his side to a dominant 37-13 victory.

Kyrgios set the tempo early with a crossover and fake that got the attention of the commentators.

The 2022 Australian Open men's doubles champion then showed off his defensive skills by denying none other than the NSW Premier.

Kyrgios was even turning defence into attack as he enjoyed himself out on court.

NBL commentator Corey Williams was blown away by what he saw from Kyrgios.

"OMG @NickKyrgios put a series of moves on the NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet in the Celebrity ASG and hit the bucket. He blocked his shot twice," Williams said on Twitter

"16 points 2 dimes 2 blocks in 20 minutes. Even in a celebrity game he’s going hard. My man Nick ain’t no joke."

While Kyrgios certainly impressed, the match was all about raising money for Starlight and the game's MVP was no doubt Poppy for this shot.
