Nick Kyrgios' impressive run at the Houston Open has come to an end in typically fiery fashion.
The Australian suffered a 6-3 7-5 defeat to American Reilly Opelka in the semi-finals on Sunday morning (AEST).
With the game in the balance at 5-5 in the second set, Kyrgios was left fuming at a questionable call that cost him a point and saw him struggle to regain his composure.
"What are you guys actually doing out here? There's no Hawkeye so I can't challenge it," Kyrgios said on-court.
"It's an absolute joke. How are you missing it? It's up to you to make these calls, I can't stop mid-point."
The 26-year-old went on to make an unforced error before a series of swear words saw the umpire dock him a point and the game.
Chair umpire Joshua Brace did eventually concede some ground to a furious Kyrgios, admitting he may have made the wrong call.
"I believe it now, I made a mistake," Brace said. "Nick, I can't call it. I didn't know if it was out."

Kyrgios, who was fined at two tournaments last month for his outbursts, was slammed by some for his behaviour in Houston.
The Aussie, however, believes it's the umpires that need to get better and took to social media to defend himself.
"Haha again...falls all on me. Umpires seem to make these mistakes a little too often," Kyrgios said on Twitter after the match.
"A lot of players seemed dissatisfied with the performance of them this week in Houston.
"More punishment? Potentially new umpires? Semi final, ‘I missed it nick’ on clay 5-5 in the second set."
Houston was Kyrgios' only clay tournament this year with the Aussie to skip the French Open for a fifth straight year.
He has, however, declared that he will return to the tournament in 2023.
