Nick Kyrgios wants to play in a Sydney Kings charity basketball game - and the organiser is keen to get him on board.

Former rugby league star and basketball tragic Jamie Soward took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce he was helping put together a charity game, putting the callout to possible celebrity players.

Tennis star Nick Kyrgios, who himself is a massive Boston Celtics fans, threw his hat into the ring.

Soward was quick to respond to the tweet, letting Kyrgios know he was in.

The timing of the game would obviously be a factor in whether Kyrgios could actually play.

Having just featured in Australia's Davis Cup campaign, the 24-year-old will get just over a month off before his Australian Open preparations start.

Soward gave no indication of when the game might be, but there can be no doubts that Kyrgios is genuine in his interest.
