French Open prize money: How much money does the winner make, total prize pool image

The total prize money on offer for 2021 French Open is (AU) $54,035,984.55, which is down around 10% on last year's money on offer for the clay court major.

It's the second year in succession that the total prize pool for the French Open has been reduced due to issues surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.

The French Open singles winners each receive (AU) $2.2 million dollars, while a player knocked out in the first round of qualifying earned $15,723.

Although the total amount of money on offer is less than 2019, the tournament has made moves to ensure players at the lower end of the scale aren't impacted.

That means that any player knocked out in qualifying or in the first two rounds of the tournament will receive the same amount of money as last year.

Here's a full breakdown of the French Open prize money.
