Ash Barty has overcome former world number one Victoria Azarenka to level Australia's Fed Cup semi final tie with Belarus in Brisbane.
The Aussie world number nine claimed the rubber in straight sets, squaring the ledger after the 7-6 6-3 triumph.
Though Barty didn't have it all her own way, facing eight break points in the opening stanza including a 40-0 deficit to hold serve in a crucial game.

Barty, 22, has enjoyed a surge up the rankings so far in 2019, including her biggest career win at the Miami Open.
That match hardness showed through in the second set as she overpowered her 29-year-old opponent to give the home side every chance after day one of action.
Earlier, Sam Stosur dropped a seesawing two hour and 47 minute-long affair to world number 10 Aryna Sabalenka.
The 35-year-old Queenslander went down in three sets on home turf at Pat Rafter Stadium.
Stosur, currently ranked 77 in singles, had plenty of opportunities and even served for the first set before dropping it 7-5.
She then claimed the second, reversing the score to level it up before going down 6-3 in the third to give Belarus a 1-0 lead in the tie.

Aussie captain Alicia Molik has been known to switch out a player for day two of the ties, potentially opening the door for Daria Gavrilova to face Azarenka on Sunday.
The former world number one boasts a 1-9 record over Stosur, while 'Dasha' has only faced her once, getting on the wrong end of a straight sets defeat.
Rubber three of the tie gets underway in Brisbane at 1pm on Sunday, with two singles matches to be played before the doubles wraps up the clash.
