Eastbourne International: Ash Barty into quarter-final, faces No.1 seed Caroline Wozniacki image

Aussie star Ash Barty has continued her dream grass court season by reaching the quarter-finals of the Eastbourne International after defeating Su-Wei Hsieh of Chinese Taipei  6-0 6-4.

The 22-year-old will now face world No.2 Caroline Wozniacki, who bested home court favourite Johanna Konta in three sets.

Barty, the eighth-seed at Eastbourne, has won eight of her nine grass court matches this month, and the world number 17 will not only go into the clash with Wozniacki with confidence, but next month's Wimbledon also.

The Aussie won the first ten matches of the match against Hsieh, before building a 6-0 5-1 lead.

Despite a late fightback from her opponent, Barty closed the match with her second attempt.

Barty won her second WTA title two weeks ago at the Nottingham Open in controversial circumstances when her opponent, Johanna Konta, vented her fury at the chair umpire on more than one occasion, branding one decision "an absolute joke" after a Barty shot appeared to land long in a tense final set.

Konta also refused to shake the official's hand at the end of the match after losing in the final of the tournament for a second successive year.

Following her victory at Nottingham, Barty was knocked out of the Nature Valley Classic in the second round.

Barty heads into the clash with one-seed Wozniacki having not beaten the star in two previous attempts.

Fellow Aussie John Millman has also reached the quarters of the Eastbourne International after defeating No.5 seed Leonardo Mayer 7-6(7) 7-6(4).

Millman will next face fourth seed Marco Cecchinato.
