Australian Open: Yes, the K and backwards N is actually KIA’s new logo image

KIA has taken its rightful, handsomely paid for, place on every conceivable object at the Australian Open – but not as you know it.

On day 1 of the tournament, fans took to Twitter, all with the same thoughts: Serena Williams’ one legged cat suit is the business and what in the world is that KN logo?

WISDOM INCOMING: Ten players to watch at the 2021 Australian Open

As we held the hands of the confused masses through the 1573 debacle of 2019 – who knew so many people cared about arena names not called Margaret Court Arena? – we’re back again to help.

According to a press release to mark the 20th anniversary of their involvement with the Australian Open, “the launch of the new Kia logo celebrates the automaker’s bold vision and transformation for the future. The sleek new logo unveils a new brand direction and slogan ‘Movement that Inspires’, representing Kia’s ambitions to establish a leadership position in the future mobility market and its drive to become an icon for change and innovation.”

KNOWLEDGE: Which Australian players are still alive in the tournament?

Respect.
