Channel Nine's multi-million dollar Australian Open broadcasting has hit its first hurdle hours into Day one of the tournament.
The broadcaster, who paid $600 million over five years for the rights back in March, had problems with their online streaming platform.
Fans who wanted to watch any of the action on the outside courts were met with an error message.

It was particularly frustrating for fans who were desperate to watch the first round match between Australians Priscilla Hon and Astra Sharma on Court 7.
Many took to Twitter to vent their frustration at the fact the online streaming service had failed so early on in the tournament.
@Channel9 you’re streaming of the minor courts at #AusOpen2019 isn’t working.

So the Channel 9 app for the @AustralianOpen has crashed already. That didn't take long.

Day 1 of 14 and only 1 hour into the #AusOpen and @Channel9 live stream online is already down. Good sign

Hey @Channel9, instead of smashing us with ads and fillers, why don't you show the Aussie women currently playing on Court 7 at the @AustralianOpen?

Nine offers 15 different streaming channels for their Australian Open coverage on their online service 9Now.
This is along with their regular channels including 9Gem which is also broadcasting the tennis.
With the streaming service now back up and running, here's hoping Nine was just getting the glitches out of their system early.
