"It was a little close wasn't it?" Barty said after the match.
"I think I gave myself opportunities in the third set in a lot of games and just couldn't take it.
I just had to take a deep breath and trust the work that I've done with my team, go up in the spots and whatever happens, happens.
The most famous victory of her young career.

"I knew that I had to keep chipping away and in a sense just trust the work that we've done.
"I know that I can match up with the best and when I execute it, I know that I can."
Barty's victory sees her pocket at least $460,000 - the biggest win of her career - and she go on to face 8th seed Petra Kvitova on Tuesday, January 22.
