Arina Rodionova and Priscilla Hon furious after shocking act of sportsmanship during Hungarian Open doubles match image

Australian pairing Arina Rodionova and Priscilla Hon have been left furious after a shocking piece of sportsmanship during their doubles match at the Hungarian Open.

After splitting the opening two sets, Rodionova and Hon's round of 16 match against Spaniard Georgina Garcia Perez and Renata Voracova of the Czech Republic went into a third set super tiebreak in Budapest.

Down 1-0 in the match tiebreak, Hon hit a powerful backhand which bounced off Voracova's racquet into her head.

The obvious header was missed by the officials and the ball bounced on Rodionova and Hon's side of the net.

The Aussie pair were incredulous when the chair umpire awarded Garcia Perez and Voracova the point.

Watch the poor act of sportsmanship ship in the video below.

In the rules of tennis, a player loses the point if a ball in play "touches the player or anything the player is wearing or carrying (excluding the racquet)."

Code 19 of the tennis rules states a player should concede the point if he or she touches the ball with anything but the racquet.

Rodionova and Hon remonstrated with the chair umpire, and even implored Voracova to admit the ball had hit her head.

Instead of conceding the point, Voracova and Garcia Perez ignored the controversy on the other side of the net - even when someone in the crowd can be heard saying that the ball hit her head.

Garcia Perez and Voracova went on to win the tiebreak and take the match 6-3 4-6 10-3.

Rodionova vented her frustrations on Instagram, calling out Voracova's poor form.

"The girl with the great headshot skills is Renata Voracova," the 29-year-old wrote.

"If you think that she admitted that she literally scored a goal with her head you are very wrong.

"She turned around and was laughing with her partner Georgina Garcia Perez about the whole thing.

"I hope she goes to bed tonight feeling good about herself and today's 'fair' win."

Hon also let her feelings be known on Instagram, posting a video and a comment to her story.
