Novak Djokovic was given a free pass into the BNP Paribas Open semi-finals and Andy Murray cruised through on Thursday.
Serbian world number one Djokovic was scheduled to take on Bernard Tomic but the Australian withdrew due to a back injury at Indian Wells.
Djokovic, a three-time champion at the ATP 1000 event, will be fresh for his last-four clash against Murray.
The British fourth seed continued his perfect record against Feliciano Lopez, beating the Spanish left-hander 6-3 6-4.
Murray held a 9-0 win-loss record over Lopez heading into the clash, and it always looked like becoming 10-0.
The fourth seed broke for a 3-1 lead in the first set and that was always going to be enough, with Lopez able to win just three return points.
Murray broke for 1-0 to start the second set and, while he was put under more pressure on serve, was always in control.
The meeting between Murray and Djokovic will be their first since the latter won the Australian Open final.
