Australian tennis star Alex de Minaur has been ruled out of the upcoming Australian Open after failing to overcome an abdominal injury.
The world No.21 will miss his home tournament, leaving Nick Kyrgios as Australia's big hope in the men's draw.

The 20-year old was a star in the recent ATP Cup alongside Kyrgios as they made the semi finals of the tournament.

He missed this week's Adelaide International due to the injury.
There is no timeline on his return to tennis yet.
