De Minaur will now meet world no.13 Grigor Dimitrov in the semi-finals, with the Bulgarian in solid form recently, reaching the final of Marseille last week.

The duo have a 2-2 record against each other, however Dimitrov defeated De Minaur at the same tournament 12 months ago in the quarter-final across three sets.

"I played him on my birthday last year, and he was rude enough to beat me when I was two match points up," De Minaur said,

"I’m playing him tomorrow, which will be my birthday again, so I’m hoping he’s a little bit nicer to me. We’ll see."

With world no.10 Stefanos Tsitsipas not competing since the Australian Open, De Minaur will return to tennis' top 10 after the ABN AMRO Open.
