State of Origin 2021 Game III: Confirmed team lists image

The series result is out of reach, following another Blues ambush in Game II but the Maroons will have plenty to play for in trying to deny NSW a 3-0 whitewash.

Injuries have forced Brad Fittler to name a handful of changes to his team, while Paul Green has rung the changes in search of the winning formula for Queensland after a disappointing series so far.

Here's the teams for the final State of Origin game for 2021.

More drama for the Maroons, with lock Jai Arrow ruled out following a COVID breach during camp on the Gold Coast

Paul Green has finally rung the changes after losing the opening two games of the series.

Kalyn Ponga's return to the fullback jersey is a welcome boost and moves Valentine Holmes back to the wing, with Xavier Coates on the other fringe.

Having struggled to contain Tom Trbojevic playing out of position at centre, Kurt Capewell has been shifted to his preferred spot on an edge.

The move for Capewell comes after Green opted to hand 19-year-old Cowboys speedster Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow his Maroons debut at centre.

Despite Harry Grant's absence, Andrew McCullough has failed to retain the No. 9 jersey, with Green instead choosing to start Dragons teammate Ben Hunt at hooker and bring AJ Brimson onto the bench to play the utility role.

David Fifita has been unable to have a grade one dangerous contact charge downgraded and will miss Game III after initially being named on the bench. Francis Molo will come onto the interchange in his place.

Kurt Mann and Coen Hess have been named as the reserves.
