Another FIFA World Cup has meant several more early mornings for Australian football fans as they cheered on the Socceroos at a fifth straight tournament. 

With the 2022 World Cup being played in Qatar, kickoff times aren't as bad as usual for Aussies hoping to watch the action. 

But with Qatar some 10,000 kilometres away from Australia, their time zone is radically different, meaning some calculations are needed when it comes to kickoff times.

Here's what you need to know ahead of the tournament conclusion, with the final between Argentina and France taking place on Dec. 19 in Australia.

Qatar time zone compared to Australia time zones

Qatar is part of the GMT+3 time zone which puts it a few hours behind all of Australia's different time zones. 

Those in Western Australia will get the shortest time adjustment of only five hours, while those on the east coast will get the biggest at eight.
