Barcelona vs Real Madrid prediction, odds, betting tips and best bets for Copa del Rey semifinal 2nd leg image

While they may have staggered out of European competition this season in unconvincing fashion, a famous La Liga and Copa del Rey double remains tantalisingly close for Barcelona.

A 1-0 first-leg victory at the Santiago Bernabeu in early March sees Barca head into the final El Clasico clash of the season as favourites to reach the showpiece final this campaign against surprise finalist Osasuna.

But Real Madrid won't be ready to go down without a fight. They may have suffered a late 2-1 defeat on their last visit to Camp Nou just three weeks ago, but experienced boss Carlo Ancelotti will very much be using that loss as motivation for his troops to come and overturn their first leg deficit in enemy territory.

For all your betting needs ahead of the fifth and final meeting between these two sides this season, The Sporting News has you covered.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid odds

As expected given recent results between the two sides, Barcelona have been made sizable favourites for this Copa del Rey semi-final second leg clash.

Three wins from their last three matches against Real Madrid, including two in their past five outings, mean that the betting market favours another Barca victory here especially with the added bonus of home advantage at Camp Nou.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid team news

Barcelona head into this clash with a number of personnel missing through injury. Pedri, Ousmane Dembele, Frenkie de Jong and Andreas Christensen all missed out at the weekend and look likely to miss the action again here. In better news, Raphinha returns from suspension.

Visitors Real Madrid are waiting to see if star defender Antonio Rudiger will make the cut, as the German international missed their La Liga match at the weekend. Ferland Mendy will also be missing, but Nacho returns from serving a suspension.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid key stats

  • Barcelona have won just one of the last five meetings between these sides at the Camp Nou since October 2018, though that did come in the last H2H there (W 2-1).

  • At Camp Nou, both sides have scored in each of the last 10 Copa del Rey meetings.

  • Both sides' star strikers head into this clash in-form. Barca's Robert Lewandowski struck a brace at the weekend, while Real's Karim Benzema hit a hat-trick.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid prediction

  • Moneyline lean: Real Madrid (+180)
  • Against the spread lean (handicap): Real Madrid +0.5 (-160)
  • Score prediction: Barcelona 1-1 Real Madrid

Although Barcelona have won three of the four meetings between these two sides this season, we're expecting a contest here that ends in a stalemate.

After losing the first leg of the semifinal 1-0, Real Madrid simply have to come and play which could leave them susceptible on the break though Carlo Ancelotti's side have been in decent defensive form of late.

Barcelona are also without a number of key players due to injuries who would usually start a match of this magnitude. That could hamper their ability to see off their great rivals.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid best bet

  • Pick: Barcelona or draw
  • Odds: -244 (BetMGM)

As Barcelona seem to hold the edge over Real Madrid of late, this selection seems like a good bet to make a little profit.

The Catalan club may have started this season's head-to-head battle on the receiving end of a 3-1 defeat back in November, but since then, Xavi & Co. have won three from three against their fierce rivals.

That includes two wins against Real across their last five outings across all competitions, one of which has given them a vital 1-0 edge heading into this semi-final second leg showdown.

That first leg scoreline means that Real have to come and push for the win at the Camp Nou which could very much suit Barca on the counter.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid prop bet

  • Pick: Karim Benzema to score anytime
  • Odds: +138 (BetMGM)

After hitting a hat-trick at the weekend vs Real Valladolid in La Liga action, it's quite clear that Benzema is turning it up a notch toward the business end of the season.

Since returning from FIFA Club World Cup duty in mid-February, the French forward and winner of the 2022 Ballon D'or has hit for eight goals in eight matches — three of those coming against Liverpool in the Champions League knockout stages.

That said, Benzema did fail to make his chances count in the first leg of this Copa del Rey semi-final which could be a cause for concern. But Real Madrid's star man usually enjoys playing against their biggest foes.

He's previously grabbed 23 goal contributions (10 goals, 13 assists) against the Catalan club in 41 meetings as a Real player, including two goals in four meetings this campaign.
