The 2023 Women's World Cup will be the biggest yet with the Matildas hoping to lift the title for the first time as they host the tournament alongside New Zealand.

Australia have never made it past the quarter-finals of the FIFA tournament before but will be confident of a strong run on home soil.

The Matildas have been drawn in a competitive group and their path through the knockout stages won't be easy.

But the time is now for this Australia team in their prime to stand up and be crowned world champions before it's too late.

Australia 2023 Women's World Cup schedule

Australia will play on the opening day of the 2023 Women's World Cup against the Republic of Ireland in Sydney.

The Matildas will then face Nigeria in Brisbane before rounding out group play against Canada in Melbourne.

A team from Group D which contains England and China will then loom in the round of 16 should Australia qualify.

The nature of the draw means the Matildas will play all of their World Cup matches on home soil.

Women's World Cup Group B betting odds

Group-specific betting odds for the 2023 Women's World Cup aren't currently widely available.

Australia will probably be slight favourites to top Group B ahead of Canada, with Nigeria and the Republic of Ireland unlikely to prove too much of a challenge.

Odds for the most likely Women's World Cup winners are available in a few regions with reigning champions the USA clear early favourites followed by Euro 2022 winners England.

The Matildas are viewed as outsiders to win it but are given a greater chance than 2019 finalists the Netherlands.
