England's Mike Brown has blasted Michael Hooper after the Australia second-rower was given a ban for foul play on the full-back.
Hooper was suspended for a crashing shoulder charge that cleared out Brown at a ruck in the Wallabies' 33-13 rout at Twickenham, which knocked the hosts out of the Rugby World Cup.
Brown was knocked out against Italy in the Six Nations earlier this year and, although he returned to play against Scotland and France, missed the rest of the Premiership season for Harlequins with concussion symptoms.
The 30-year-old returned for England's World Cup campaign, and Hooper's actions drew a strong response from Brown.
"I've taken an accidental shoulder to the head before with bad consequences so how am I going to react to one done on purpose," Brown posted.
"It should have been dealt with by the referee and his assistant at the time. Both stood two metres away looking at it.
"I have no interest in him getting banned after and had nothing to do with it."
