Henry Speight targeted a medal at next year's Olympic Games after announcing a new three-year deal with the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) on Thursday.
Speight signed a deal that will see him stay with the ACT Brumbies, while also making him available for the Wallabies and Australia's Rugby Sevens team.
The two-time Australia international, who has played 74 matches for the Brumbies in Super Rugby, is excited by the prospect of playing at Rio 2016, where Rugby Sevens will be included.
"I am grateful to both the ARU and the Brumbies for giving me the opportunity to continue playing for the Wallabies as well as having a chance to go to an Olympic Games," the winger said in a statement.
"We still have to qualify for Rio, but I'm confident that we'll get through and can push for a medal."
The 27-year-old, who was named in Michael Cheika's 40-man squad for the Rugby Championship, is yet to play for the Wallabies this year but remains hopeful he can earn a spot for the Rugby World Cup.
"For now, my focus is on the Wallabies and making the squad for the World Cup," he said.
