For the first time ever, the Women's State of Origin series is having a second game, with Queensland looking to close out the series.

After a tight and tense 18-10 victory in Game 1, they return home to Townsville and will hope to take the shield back from New South Wales after defeat last year.

With these games being tight contests in recent years, another absorbing contest can be expected when these two rivals go head to head.

When is Women's State of Origin Game 2?

The second match of the Women's State of Origin series is taking place on Thursday, July 22.

Taking place three weeks after Game 1, it is also kicking off the night after Game 2 of the men's series, which was played at Suncorp Stadium.

Where is Women's State of Origin Game 2?

The match is taking place at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville, the home of the North Queensland Cowboys.

The stadium has hosted one men's Origin match before, but it ended in disaster for Queensland as they were humiliated by their rivals in a 50-6 defeat.

Game 1 took place at CommBank Stadium in Parramatta.

What time will Women's State of Origin kick-off/start?

The match will kick-off at 7:45pm AEST on June 22.
