Cronulla Sharks have continued to move swiftly on locking down their backline talent to long-term deals with William Kennedy the latest to ink an extension.
The fullback has been in sparkling form so far this season scoring six tries already and has fully established himself as a key member in Craig Fitzgibbon's side ever since becoming the club's first-choice No.1 in 2020.
Sharks' fullback William Kennedy re-signs with Cronulla
“I've been here since my SG Ball days and I love the club, the culture we have here and have close relationships with the players here at the Sharks,” Kennedy said after signing his deal.
The two-year extension will keep him in the Shire until at least the end of the 2025 season and comes hot on the heels of the Sharks signing their talisman, Nicho Hynes, to a long-term deal.

The whole backline of the club has now been secured with the re-signings of the likes of Sione Katoa and Ronaldo Mulitalo.
“With the playing group we have and under the coaching of Fitzy, Steve Price, Josh Hannay and DJ (Daniel Holdsworth), I think we are building something special here and I'm excited to be a part of it,” Kennedy said.
Since making his debut in the 2019 season, Kennedy has gradually established himself as a vital cog in Cronulla’s machine while posting impressive attacking numbers.
He has made 67 appearances in the NRL to date, registering 30 tries and 33 assists.
“Will is a player who works very hard at his game and his continued improvement and development is evidence of that,” Fitzgibbon said.
“He has come through our pathways, winning an SG Ball and NSW Cup competition along the way and is a valuable member of our team, trusted by his teammates and it is definitely a boost that he has re-signed and made the decision to remain at the club for a further two years.”
