State of Origin: Score, result for NSW vs. QLD Game 3

NSW defeated Queensland in an epic decider on Wednesday evening, winning 14-4.

The intensity was set high from the get-go and the level hardly dropped for the remainder of the match.

Both sides were desperate to score first, with tensions eventually boiling over in the form of a flare-up that saw two players sin-binned.

The defence and desperation were so prominent that the half remained scoreless until Valentine Holmes' late field goal, which saw the home side go into the sheds up 2-0.

The physicality continued into the second half as the teams exchanged another penalty goal each.

However, the Blues eventually broke the try drought in the 64th minute, courtesy of centre Bradman Best.

Jarome Luai carved his way through the Maroons' defensive line before passing to a barnstorming Best, who fended off two opposition players on his way to the line.

NSW then took full advantage of their momentum, as Mitchell Moses showed his class to weave through Queensland and score a series-clinching try.

The Maroons fought to the end but simply ran out of time to conjure up an unlikely comeback.

State of Origin: Who was Man of the Match in Game 3?

Dylan Edwards was named the Man of the Match following the 2024 Origin decider.

The Blues fullback ran for a game-high 242 run metres, recorded seven tackle breaks and made one offload.

Impressively, he didn't make a single error.
