New South Wales and Queensland went head-to-head in Melbourne on Wednesday night in Game 2 of the 2024 State of Origin series.
After a heavy loss in the opener, the Blues needed to win to keep their hopes alive, with the Maroons just one game away from securing the shield for a third successive year.

NSW flipped the script in the second game, defeating their interstate rivals 38-18.
It was an utterly dominant first-half display from the Blues, piling 34 points on their rivals – the most points scored in the first 40 minutes in Origin history.
Mitchell Moses was brought into the fold for the first time this series, expertly orchestrating his team's attack at halfback.
Second-rower Liam Martin burst through close to the line in the 10th minute to score the first of six NSW tries in the opening stanza.
The Blues' backline then became unstoppable over the next half an hour. Brian To'o bagged a double in the corner, with Zac Lomax showing off his aerial presence and scoring two tries of his own.
Latrell Mitchell also announced his return to the Origin arena, finishing off a lovely flowing move from the Blues down the left edge.

After being well and truly blown away, Queensland were much improved in the second half.
Jeremiah Nanai and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow created plenty of opportunities down the left flank and scored a try each to close the gap.
However, shortly after, NSW debutant Dylan Edwards scored a four-pointer to put the game beyond doubt.
Murray Taulagi got another consolation try for the current holders, but by then, fans were also looking ahead to the upcoming decider at Suncorp Stadium.

State of Origin: Who was Man of the Match in Game 2?
Mitchell Moses was deemed the player of the match on Wednesday night.
The halfback put on an absolute attacking clinic, recording four try assists and enjoying a strong kicking performance.
The playmaker is now all but guaranteed to keep hold of the No. 7 jersey for Game 3 in Brisbane.
