Not many will have given the Cronulla Sharks a chance of victory when they travelled up to Langlands Park in Brisbane for their Semi Final against the Broncos, but the Minor Premiers – who finished ahead of the Roosters on the ladder via points difference – proved no match for a Sharks side built on stoic defence.

Brisbane may have out-scored every other NRLW side in the regular-season, but they couldn't muster a single point against a Cronulla side who turned up with a game plan and stuck to it rigidly, keeping the Broncos at bay for 80 minutes as Tiana Penitani, Annessa Biddle and Cassie Staples' tries either side of half-time sealed a 14-0 victory for the Sharks.

The Roosters, meanwhile, were involved in a much more see-sawing affair at their spiritual home of Allianz Stadium in the second Semi Final. Coming up against the third-placed Knights, Sydney crossed four times in the first 40 minutes to open up a commanding 22-6 lead, and saw off Newcastle's second-half fightback to win 25-16. Samantha Bremner scored and Jocelyn Kelleher adding eight points off the tee, as the Chooks booked their Grand Final place in style.
