NRL players often cop a bad rap for their off-field behaviour but New Zealand Warriors duo Addin Fonua-Blake and Ben Murdoch-Masila have provided a touching moment off the pitch up on the NSW Central Coast.

While heading to training at their Tuggerah base on Tuesday morning, Fonua-Blake and Murdoch-Masila were spotted on the side of the road by a member of the public, helping an elderly lady who had broken down in her car.

Despite driving rain that has seen many parts of NSW and Sydney evacuated, the Warriors pair helped the lady change a flat tyre on her car before continuing on their journey from their living quarters in Terrigal.

The two players arrived at training soaking wet, with the man who saw them change the tyre pleading for the Good Samaritans to not get punished by the Warriors for their late arrival at training.

The Warriors are training at a special facilty organised in Tuggerah, 100km north of Sydney, and living in Central Coast beachside town Terrigal because of the COVID 19 pandemic.

With travel currently restricted between Australia and New Zealand, the Warriors were forced to relocate to the Central Coast area - an area they also resided in during the coronavirus-affected 2020 campaign - so they could guarantee their participation in the 2021 NRL season.

But with the possibility of a travel bubble opening up between the two Trans-Tasman nations in the near-future, the Warriors could relocate back to their homeland, with a decision set to be made on June 21.

The Warriors started the season with a 19-6 victory over the Gold Coast Titans at Central Coast Stadium, however they fell short in the round two clash up the road against Newcastle Knights, going down 20-16.

They will continue on the road in round three with a contest against the Canberra Raiders at GIO Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
