The fallout from the Eels' disastrous season has continued, with veteran prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard opting to depart the team.

Campbell-Gillard was initially contracted through 2025, but the team announced today that he has been granted an early release from his deal.

Rival teams are already circling for the 31-year-old's signature, including two squads who suffered near-equally dismal seasons as his now former club.

Reagan Campbell-Gillard granted early release by Parramatta

The Eels today announced that RCG would be released from his contract a year early, ending a five-year relationship between the forward and his squad.

According to a press release, the parting was both mutual and relatively seamless, with both parties thanking each other for what they achieved together.

"Reagan is a quality player and has consistently demonstrated his impact on the field, reaching the impressive milestone of 200 NRL games earlier this year," Parramatta GM Mark O'Neill said.

"While these decisions are never easy, we also wanted to ensure that Reagan had the opportunity to secure his future beyond the 2025 season.

"We thank Reagan for his dedicated service to the Eels and wish him, his partner Alira and their young family all the very best for the future."

"I’m so thankful for the opportunity to come to a great club which helped me get my football back on track," added Campbell-Gillard.

"I’ve really enjoyed my time at Parramatta, I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had and for the lifelong friendships I’ve made.

"I also want to thank the passionate Eels fanbase, it’s been a pleasure playing in front of them and I’ve appreciated all their support over the years."

Who will Reagan Campbell-Gillard sign with?

With his time in Parramatta officially over, Campbell-Gillard's signature will now be one of the most coveted on the market, a former State of Origin and dual-international representative who was instrumental in the Eels 2021 grand final run.

The Cowboys, Dolphins and Bulldogs are all reportedly interested, as well as the Broncos, who are pivoting after losing out on the Corey Horsburgh sweep stakes.

The Dragons were said to be in the driving seat for his talents earlier this season, but this has since been put to bed, with the Red V reportedly not willing to table a contract long enough to satisfy the player.
