Maroons complete comeback in Under 19's women's Origin clash
Thursday night began with a topsy-turvy clash between the NSW and Queensland Under 19 women's sides, with the Maroons emerging victorious 20-14.
The home side trailed 10-4 at the break but tidied up their errors - somewhat - to complete a second-half comeback.
Destiny Mino-Sinapati, Emily Bella and Libby Surha all scored in the second stanza to secure the win for Queensland.
Notably, the Maroons only completed 69 per cent of their sets compared to their opponent's 87 per cent completion rate, but were simply more effective close to the try line.
Blues young gun Ethan Strange scores hat trick as NSW men defeat QLD
The men's match got off to a quick start, with NSW's Ethan Strange crossing in the first minute of play.
Maroons back Mitchell Jennings then found himself in the sin bin early for a high shot, with the Blues taking full advantage and scoring just five minutes later.
NSW took a 14-10 lead into the sheds before running away with it in the second half, notching a commanding 34-14 win.
Strange was the star for the visitors, bagging a hat trick which was capped off by a classy aerial grab.
