Hymel Hunt's abysmal bombed try summed up a bleak Saturday afternoon for Newcastle in a 34-4 defeat to Melbourne at AAMI Park.
The underrated Hunt has been in great form for the Knights this season but endured a moment he'd like wiped from the record in the 77th minute.
After some messy lead-up play in an attacking position, Newcastle halfback Mitchell Pearce settled and placed a pinpoint kick that Edrick Lee snaffled.

The winger was able to pop an incredible flick pass to Hunt, who only had to catch the Steeden and touch down to register four points.
But a desperate effort from Melbourne's Suliasi Vunivalu to hit Hunt's leg saw the unthinkable happen as the footy bobbled out of the centre's grasp.

The Fox League commentators were stunned by the scenes that unfolded.
"What just happened?" asked a bewildered Braith Anasta.
Dan Ginnane attempted to explain Hunt's blunder.
"Suliasi Vunivalu has come up with a miracle or Hymel Hunt has come up with a catastrophe."
Anasta responded: "I think it's a catastrophe."
Ginnane then compared Hunt's clanger to two infamous bombed tries.
"Oh, no. That's shades of poor old Russell Richardson and Max Mannix," he said as the replay flashed up on the big screen, inciting jeers from the pro-Storm crowd.
Brett Finch believes a lack of focus was to blame for the mindboggling error.
"It's just attention to detail. It's concentration ... It doesn't matter today, the game's gone," he said.
Anasta continued to sink the boot in: "That's poor from Hymel Hunt, we know that."
All Hunt could do was grin sheepishly as he made his way into the defensive line for the restart of play.
"That's the old embarrassed smile," said Anasta.
