State of Origin kick-off time: When does Game 1 2024 start?

State of Origin is nearly here for 2024, with anticipation building in Sydney ahead of Game 1.

The NSW Blues have home-ground advantage for the opener as they look to snatch the shield back from the Queensland Maroons.

Here's when the action will kick off on Wednesday night.

State of Origin kick off: What time does Game 1 start?

Kick-off for Game 1 is officially scheduled for 8:05 pm AEST on Wednesday, June 5.

However, the match typically gets underway a few minutes later, following the Acknowledgement of Country and Australian national anthem.

When and where is Origin Game 1?

Accor Stadium in Sydney will host this year's Origin opener on Wednesday, June 5. 

Under the guidance of new coach Michael Maguire, NSW will be looking to start with a win in front of their home fans.

In 31 Origin matches at the venue in Sydney's Olympic Park, the Blues have emerged victorious on 20 occasions.

The Blues won 24-10 in Game 3 at the venue last year to prevent a Queensland clean sweep.

What channel is State of Origin on? 

In 2024, all three Origin matches will be broadcast exclusively on Channel 9.

Pre-match coverage is typically provided by both Channel 9 and Fox Sports, but the game itself will only be shown by the former.

For fans watching online, all the action will be streamed live via 9Now.
