NSW have snatched the under 20s State of Origin shield from Queensland in thumping fashion, careering to a 36-10 win at ANZ Stadium.
In the curtain-raiser to the senior Origin decider, the Mark O'Meley-coached Blues scorched the Maroons in a six-tries-to-two performance that Brad Fittler's men will hope to replicate in the main event.
Penrith Panthers five-eighth Matt Burton orchestrated the victory for the Blues with two tries and a try assist, claiming the man-of-the-match award.

Burton earned a start after NSW's listed halves pairing of Cooper Johns and Brandon Wakeham withdrew. Blues prop Oregon Kaufusi was also a late scratching.
Zippy NSW hooker Sam Verrills, who made his NRL debut for the Sydney Roosters earlier this season, was electric around the ruck.
After slaying the Blues last year, Queensland could only muster one try in each stanza on Wednesday night.
Cronulla Sharks talent Ronaldo Mulitalo played fullback for the Maroons, scoring a try, while highly-rated Brisbane Broncos halfback Cory Paix wore the No.7.
Another promising Brisbane playmaker, Tanah Boyd, came from the interchange.
Burton opened the scoring after cleaning up the mess from his own grubber in the eighth minute.
Queensland responded via the speedy Mulitalo before Burton sliced through to bag his double.
Verrills then set up a four-pointer for rising Sharks back-rower Teig Wilton to extend the Blues' lead to 16-4 at the break.
Three further unanswered NSW tries to Matt Croker, Ky Rodwell and Ethan Parry blew the margin out, with Maroons centre Murray Taulagi crossing the stripe at the death to lessen the blow.
Blues outside back Stephen Crichton booted five from six goals (including a penalty), while Queensland pivot Braydon Trindall landed one attempt.
