State of Origin: Matt Gillett out of decider, Dylan Napa brought in image

An Origin SOS has been sent out for Dylan Napa with Queensland star Matt Gillett ruled out of Wednesday’s decider at ANZ Stadium.

Gillett injured his groin late last week and was unable to complete a Maroons training session.

“We’ve got some great replacements there, guys who will come in and do the job,” Queensland coach Kevin Walters said Tuesday.

“Ethan Lowe has been with us all week and David Fifita is someone who could fit in there as well.

Dylan Napa, axed from the Origin II team, has also been added to the squad.

“Dylan’s come in as a precaution,” Walters said.

“He’s another one that’s been around the team, so he’s very comfortable around all the players and all the group.

Broncos veteran Gillett left the training field last week with a groin injury and hasn't trained since, Queensland said in a statement.

"Maroons second rower Matt Gillett experienced groin soreness during a field session and as a precaution, was removed from the field," the statement said.

"'We will continue to provide treatment and assess his progress to give him every opportunity to play,' Maroons doctor Matt Hislop said.

"As a further precaution, Gillett won't take part in the Maroons opposed session with the Queensland Under 20s this afternoon."

More to come.
