The final scenes of Origin II were a remake of Dumb and Dumber mixed with Courage under Fire.
The teams traded mistake for mistake and punch for punch over a thrilling final 20 minutes as the Blues avoided another late Queensland show to claim just their second Origin series since 2006.
This was Origin at its best, brain explosions and all.
Ben Hunt kicks the ball high into the in-goal for Latrell Mitchell to claim an easy catch, gifting NSW a seven tackle set.
Mitchell and Josh Addo-Carr race up to the 20m for a quick tap, force a pass and drop the ball cold.
Queensland score from the ensuing set to reduce the margin to just four points.
Brainsnaps 1-all.
Roberts then impedes Gavin Copper from getting to a grubber that Tommy Trbojevic had covered and cops 10 in the bin with less than 12 minutes remaining.
Brainsnaps 2-1.
The Blues somehow see off the Maroons and make their way upfield, only for Will Chambers to lift James Maloney in the air and slam him on the canvas, WWE style.
Penalty Blues.
Brainsnaps 2-2.
And so it continues.

Still with only 12 men, Tyrone Peachey attempts to trip Kalyn Ponga and gives Queensland a penalty and another shot at the NSW line.
The Maroons again can’t capitalise and Chambers kicks the ball halfway to Parramatta to hand the Blues another seven tackle set.
The brainsnaps finished about even and just added to a game up there with the best Origin has produced in its 38 years.
NSW did a Queensland on Queensland, hanging on against the odds to secure one of their most courageous of victories.
Early on it looked as though the Blues needed to take their boots and socks off and soak up some of that barefoot energy Brad Fittler spruiks.
Queensland caught them early and often, clocking up a 10-0 lead and having one try denied by the slimmest of margins by the bunker.
With the best fullback the game has seen, Billy Slater, making his presence felt, the Maroons looked up for it.
But so were NSW.
The Blues grew into the game and scored the next 18 points to turn the game on its head.
Queensland, as always, wouldn’t lie down.
Roberts was in the bin, skipper Boyd Cordner was forced off with concussion and the Maroons were coming to get the Blues.
When Valentine Holmes sprinted down the left touchline, this looked like THE moment.
Not this time.
Nathan Cleary produced one of the great Origin tackles, stopping Holmes in his tracks and forcing the winger to cough the ball up as he slid into touch.
There were so many ‘line in the sand’ moments but that one left the biggest rut.
The Blues were never going to lose from there.
Courage Under Fire.
