Canterbury have been linked to reviving a move for Siosiua Taukeiaho after the premiership-winning forward initially appeared set for a move to Belmore last year.
A lingering foot injury put an end to these plans though as a medical revealed that the veteran required surgery which would sideline him for a significant period of time.
"He was a player that we were really keen to pursue, he had a year to go on his contract in Catalans and they were looking for some sort of replacement if he was to come back to the NRL," Canterbury supremo Phil Gould revealed at the time.
"Any deal with us was subject to a medical, as they normally are, but unfortunately late in the season… he played with an injury in the grand final…and couldn’t pass any medical to get an offer from us."

Bulldogs set to revive move for Siosiua Taukeiaho
After the contract fiasco last year, Taukeiaho has once again popped up on the radar at the Bulldogs as they continue to try and build their roster.
He has become a free agent on the market after being released prematurely from his deal with the Dragons in July.
Taukeiaho was one of three players to have their contracts terminated by the Super League outfit after they allegedly lied to the club in order to skip a training session and attend a concert.

The Dogs have been linked with a number of props, including Reagan Campbell-Gillard, in recent months as they seek to strengthen their front row stocks.
According to News Corp, Taukeiaho has attracted the eye of Cameron Ciraldo once again as he looks to add to current forward additions Sitili Tupouniua and Tom Amone.
"The former Roosters prop has been spotted at Belmore in recent weeks," the report noted.
"At this stage, he has not formally signed, but if his rehab and training continues as planned, Taukeiaho will be offered a Bulldogs deal for 2025."
