Roosters vs. Sharks NRLW Grand Final match preview

The Broncos hosted the Sharks in the first of two Semi Final matches to decide Sunday's NRLW decider, having pipped the Roosters to the Minor Premiership on points difference the week prior. That counted for little in the Cronulla ranks though, as Tony Herman's side put in a clinical performance built on rock-solid defence, keeping Brisbane scoreless in a 14-0 win.

Cronulla's shock advancement into the Grand Final at Brisbane's expense put all the pressure on Sydney to avoid a similar defeat in their Semi Final against the third-placed Newcastle Knights, who only finished above the Sharks on points difference.

However, the Roosters put any thought of a slip-up to bed within a dominant first 40 minutes, scoring four tries to take a 22-4 half-time lead as Samantha Bremner and Jocelyn Kelleher came to the fore. The Knights mounted a comeback late in the second half, scoring two tries in the final 20, but couldn't overturn Sydney's commanding lead in an epic Finals clash which finished 25-16.
