The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs return to finals footy this year for the first time since 2016.

One of the key cogs behind their revival has been hooker Reed Mahoney, who is in his second season at the club.

His first campaign under coach Cameron Ciraldo was shaky at times, but he has undoubtedly taken a step up in 2024.

Mahoney's availability has also made him a precious asset in Belmore.

Remarkably, the No. 9 hasn't missed a match since joining the club in 2023, playing in all 48 possible games.

In a physically demanding position, it's impressive the 26-year-old hasn't succumbed to injury once.

He has also dodged a suspension in his two seasons at the Bulldogs, which is notable considering his reputation as a trash-talker and pot-stirrer.

Mahoney is no stranger to playing entire seasons.

Before heading to Canterbury, he featured in all 28 matches of the Eels' 2022 campaign, which saw them reach the grand final.

This consistency will see him reach the 150th NRL game milestone this weekend, although the focus will be entirely on making it 151.

The Bulldogs will host the Sea Eagles at Accor Stadium in a Sunday afternoon elimination final.

The winner of that clash will play a semi-final against the loser of the earlier qualifying final between the Panthers and Roosters.
