Despite not progressing to the Intrust Super Premiership grand final, St George Illawarra Dragons have scored one of the most ridiculous tries of the rugby league season in the final moments of Sunday's match.
Trailing 28-20 to the Canterbury Bulldogs with less than four minutes on the clock, the Red V found themselves attacking in Doggies territory on the last tackle.
First, they went to the right, then they came back to the left, a few offloads and a cross-field kick later and the Dragons had somehow scored.
Watch the ridiculous try in the video below.
12 passes in total, including three offloads, occurred before the final kick from Adam Clune went straight into the hands of Patrick Herbert who crossed the chalk.
"It's the try of the season," one commentator said on Fox League's coverage.
"It's absolutely brilliant from the Dragons."
Steve Roach was incredibly excited by the cross-field kick.
"What about the kick there?" Blocker said.
"The composure to kick cross-field, great try."
Darren Nicholls was successful with his conversion to make the score 28-26, but that's where the excitement ended for the Dragons, with the fulltime whistle blowing soon after.
The Bulldogs will face Newtown Jets in the grand final of the Intrust Super Premiership after they defeated Penrith Panthers 28-24 on Saturday.
The Doggies had Matthew Frawley, Fa'amanu Brown, Rhyse Martin and Greg Eastwood at their disposal for the prelim, while Jai Field made his presence felt for the Dragons.
