The NRLW reaches its crescendo this weekend, with the Parramatta Eels and Newcastle Knights to face off in the grand final.

This year's competition follows a delayed 2021 campaign which took place earlier in the year.

The Sydney Roosters are the reigning champions but were knocked out by a spirited Eels side in the semi finals.

Sporting News Australia has everything you need to know about the new season.

NRLW 2022 draw and results

The Eels and Sydney Roosters kicked off the new season on August 20, with five rounds of regular season matches following.

The new Allianz Stadium was launched in Round 3, with the Roosters and Dragons playing as part of a combined double-header with the NRL.

Round 4 saw the first-ever NRLW double-header, which played at AAMI Park ahead of the NRL elimination final between the Storm and Raiders.

The final round of the regular season was held at Central Coast Stadium in Gosford, with three consecutive games taking place.

Now, it's time for the finals.

Two semi finals took place last week, with the grand final next up on October 2.

Each game of the 2022 season will be broadcast live on free-to-air, with the opening match between the Eels and Roosters set to be featured on Nine's primary channel.

Games will also be sublicensed to Foxtel, with matches shown via Fox Sports and Kayo.
