Wests Tigers were confirmed as the NRL wooden spoon winners for 2023 after a 54-12 defeat against Manly Sea Eagles on Friday night.

The Dragons, who sit on 16 points, have done enough to avoid picking up the spoon with their loss to Newcastle on Saturday irrelevant.

The Sporting News has all the latest on the NRL wooden spoon race below.

Friday night's 54-12 defeat against Manly Sea Eagles confirmed the wooden spoon for Wests Tigers. It marks the second consecutive time the Tigers have finished at the bottom of the ladder.

The Dragons have avoided the wooden spoon despite enduring a disastrous season which saw them win just five games all year.

The club is still yet to win a wooden spoon in their history.
