Round 13 only saw four games for footy fans with a number of teams having the bye ahead of State of Origin one, but that didn't stop the tries being scored.

In all, 21 tries were scored over the weekend including doubles to the returning Daniel Tupou as well as Cowboys' flyer Antonio Winterstein and big man Tom Burgess.

With six players either in the casualty ward or on representative duty, North Queensland defeated Manly away from home, while Souths were eight-point winners over a lacklustre Cronulla.

Newcastle added to Parramatta's 2018 woes with a comprehensive 30-4 win which left the Eels with no players on the bench at the end of the game, due to injuries.

In the game of the round, the Roosters narrowly defeated Wests TIgers on Sunday at Allianz Stadium to claim the two points without their representative stars.
