NRL: Trbojevic brothers 'never entertained' offers from other NRL clubs image

Manly brothers Jake and Tom Trbojevic have confirmed they 'never entertained' offers from rival NRL clubs after they confirmed their future with the Sea Eagles on Friday.

The Trbojevic's signed six-year deals with the Sea Eagles after months of speculation over their futures.

Multiple reports linked the brothers to rival clubs, including an audacious bid by the Canterbury Bulldogs for their signature

However, the two players were keen to convince Manly fans that they never considered leaving the Northern Beaches.

"It was obviously going through the media about other offers but it didn't really cross our minds," Tom Trbojevic said.

"We've still got another year here before that contract starts, we never really looked elsewhere.

'We're enjoying playing under Des [Hasler] in the Manly colours."

Tom's brother was just as happy playing under Des, believing the positive football he brought to Manly was a strong reason they decided to stay at Brookvale.

"Yeah same thing as Tom said, we really enjoyed playing under Des last year," Jake Trbojevic said.

"I think we learned a lot you know both as individuals and as a team.

"I think we grew a lot so definitely never entertained leaving so yeah, we love playing here."

It's a great sign for the future for the Sea Eagles with two of their most promising juniors set to continue their careers at the club for the distant future.

Stephen Humphreys, Manly Sea Eagles CEO, praised the brothers for their character and believe the contracts are a just reward for their on and off-field talents.

“They are outstanding young men, a great credit to themselves, their family, the Sea Eagles and the great game of Rugby League," Humphreys said in a statement on the Manly Sea Eagles website.

"They are both proud Manly juniors and we are all very proud of them.

“Jake and Tom thoroughly deserve these lucrative new contracts and we are thrilled that they will continue to be integral to our plans and performance for many years to come.”
