New Zealand Warriors will be desperate for their first win of the season on home soil when they welcome the unbeaten Canberra Raiders to Christchurch.

Andrew Webster's men have had near misses against Cronulla and Melbourne so far and are playing far better than their winless record suggests.

However, they will face a tough test through the middle with Ricky Stuart's imposing pack in good form to start the year, as the likes of Joe Tapine and Josh Papalii have repeatedly set the platform in attack.

The Raiders will usher their skipper Elliott Whitehead back into the fold following an injury.

The hosts will once again be without their fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, who won't be available to play against his former side due to a hamstring injury.
