NRL Supercoach: Who to buy, hold and sell - Round 14 image

WHO TO BUY IN SUPERCOACH

John Olive CTW - $177,300

Average: 52

Last Round Score:  52

Average Minutes: 80

Breakeven:  -41

Verdict: He may be a week away from a price change, but if you're looking to offload some dead weight, such as Corey Thompson or Richie Kennar, Olive is your man. Impressive in his Canterbury debut a fortnight ago, Olive was an attacking spark that continually poked his nose through the line. His averages in the past are nothing to froth over, but at near bottom dollar he's the perfect downgrade with the potential to earn some easy cash.

Cameron Smith HOK - $556,500

#Cameron Smith

Average: 62

Last Round Score:  N/A

Average Minutes: 79

Breakeven:  -10

Verdict: For 41.9 per cent of you, this means nothing. But for the non-Smith owners, this is your chance to finally pick up the Supercoach legend. At his third lowest price this year, Smith is not going to get any cheaper. Coming off a mammoth score of 123 in his last outing, Smith could be about to hit his strides. And with no Origin commitments, he will be a keeper until the end of the season.

WHO TO HOLD IN SUPERCOACH

Johnathan Thurston HFB - $406,000

Average:  51

Last Round Score: 67

Average Minutes: 80

Breakeven: 58

Verdict:  Call us crazy, but we're giving JT one more week to tear up the wooden spoon-bound Eels. He shook off a dusty three weeks with a nice score of 67 last round and if he can pull one more in, you may be able to earn back some of that lost cash. We'll have him off our books by the next bye round, but there are points up for grabs in round 14.

Cody Walker 5/8 FLB - $418,600

Average: 54

Last Round Score:  38

Average Minutes:  79

Breakeven: 67

Verdict: After kicking the year off in unstoppable Supercoach form, Walker's scores have slid dramatically as the tries have began to slow down. Two favourable games against the Titans and Eels give him the perfect chance to bounce back. Out of all 16 clubs, Gold Coast have conceded the most Supercoach points, while Parramatta can barely get a win on the board. Another one to possibly let go before the next bye round.

WHO TO SELL IN SUPERCOACH

Corey Thompson CTW - $389,800

The referenced media source is missing and needs to be re-embedded.

Average:  50

Last Round Score: 22

Average Minutes: 80

Breakeven: 55

Verdict:  Now a full-time winger again, Thompson's scores will be hampered unless he can get some tries on the board. Being in the third worst attacking side won't do him many favours. It's been a strange ride for those that purchased him just after the early rounds, involving a couple of decent scores with barely any price rise at all.

Slade Griffin HOK - $401,100

Average:  47

Last Round Score:  55

Average Minutes:  62

Breakeven:  51

Verdict: PEAKED! He's served his purpose - clocking up some decent scores, earning a solid $150,000 and providing coverage last bye round. For us, this is where the round ends with his price hitting its maximum.

Daly Cherry-Evans HFB - $492,800

Average:  57

Last Round Score:  38

Average Minutes:  81

Breakeven:  79

Verdict: Losing the goal-kicking duties will begin to hurt, while three tough fixtures against the Warriors, Dragons and Panthers may be hard to build himself back up again. No bye coverage for round 17 and we're tipping his price to start taking a hit.
