The pitch invader that caused controversy after being tackled to the ground during a match between Gold Coast Titans and Parramatta Eels on Saturday night has broken her silence.

The fan managed to reach the middle of the pitch before a security guard upended her with a fierce tackle.

With crowd footage suggesting the tackle was brutal, Titans chairman Dennis Watt spoke out on Sunday to call for a review into the incident and suggesed security was "heavy-handed".

Most fans, however, believe security was simply doing their job and now the streaker in question has also come to their defence.

"The tackle was honestly fine. It was more so just how much air that I got so it looked so much worse," the pitch invader told Triple M Cairns on Monday.

"They could’ve just grabbed me and I would have fallen over.

"I think it’s fair play. I took what I deserved. He should keep his job.

"I know exactly what I did. It’s been a bucket list sort of thing. When your friends dare you to do it, you don’t actually think you’d do it. It was such a surreal and out-of-body experience."

As always, the Gold Coast crowd was quick to cheer on the streaker, who savoured her moment in the spotlight.

"It was probably the best sound I’ve ever heard," she said.

"I can’t believe how far I got. It just happened so fast. I used to play AFL, rugby, had three brothers, so getting tackled was not a problem."

The NRL had a dramatic weekend of pitch invaders with another getting onto the field with a flare during Cronulla Sharks' 30-4 win over West Tigers on Sunday.
