Wayne Bennett comes face-to-face with his protégé Jason Demetriou on Thursday night when the Dolphins and South Sydney kickstart what is sure to be another blockbuster round of action in the NRL.
On Friday, Cronulla will be looking to snap a seven-game losing streak against the Roosters, while there is another Battle of Brookvale installment with Manly going for back-to-back victories over the Storm for the first time since 2015.

Penrith will be massive favourites to extend their dominant recent record over Newcastle on Saturday before the Broncos will try to make it four wins in a row against the Titans.
Elsewhere, another tight contest is in store between the Raiders and Dragons while the Bulldogs will attempt to shock the Eels and hand them their fifth loss of the season.
Here’s The Sporting News’ betting predictions for Round 7.

Latrell Mitchell to star against the Dolphins
The Rabbitohs have won 14 of their last 16 regular season games in Queensland and will be hard to stop after clicking into gear against a depleted Bulldogs side.
Latrell Mitchell found his form on Good Friday as he notched a hat-trick and provided two assists for a rampant Bunnies outfit.
The fullback is just 25 points shy of notching 1,000 points in the NRL and will fancy his chances of edging ever closer to that milestone.
He loves playing against Queensland teams, having been directly involved in 14 tries across his past seven matches against those sides from up north.
Bennett will have a plan on how to limit Mitchell's impact on the game but in the Dolphins' first two matches at Suncorp they have conceded 18 points both times.
South Sydney Rabbitohs margin [1-12] / Latrell Mitchell anytime try-scorer - $6.08
Cameron Munster to land knockout blow during 'Battle of Brookvale'
With Nick Meaney ruled out of the game due to delayed concussion symptoms, Craig Bellamy has turned to Cameron Munster to fill in at the back.
In his last two games where he started in the No.1 jersey, things went quite well for the Maroons playmaker.
He claimed a hat-trick in one appearance, while laying on three try assists in the other.
Manly's defence is a major worry right now, having conceded 119 points across their past four games.
Prior to their 36-30 win the last time these two met, Manly had been on a six-game losing streak against the Storm.
Last try-scorer: Cameron Munster - $13.00
Canberra Raiders to slay the Dragons
Canberra are on a three-game winning streak against St George although each of the last four encounters at GIO Stadium have been nail-biters. The final margin has been six points or fewer on all of those occasions.
The Dragons have lost seven of their last eight games when playing as the away team and will be up against it with the Raiders on a high after ambushing the Broncos last week.
MORE: Who will be the next St George Illawarra coach?
Sebastian Kris, who has clocked more kick return metres than any other player in the comp, is getting Canberra's sets off to the best possible start while their attack will be aided by the return of Jack Wighton, Joe Tapine and Nick Cotric.
Canberra Raiders margin [1-12] - $2.95
Clint Gutherson to score against the Bulldogs
The Eels have won five of their past six encounters against Canterbury with Brad Arthur's men clearly enjoying facing the boys from Belmore.
The same can't be said for the Bulldogs who have won just two of the last 14 matches they have played at CommBank Stadium.
Clinton Gutherson is in a rich vein of form having crossed for four tries in his last four appearances.

There is no one in the Parramatta side who loves playing against the Dogs more than Gutho as he has been directly involved in eight tries in his past six games against them.
Anytime try-scorer: Clint Gutherson - $2.20
