NRL round 22: Team of the week image

There are just three weeks left in the regular season, and round 22 of the NRL was one of the best yet.

Upsets, controversy and many, many tries. What else could one ask for?

This is obviously not directed at St George Illawarra Dragons fans who had arguably the worst weekend known to rugby league fans.

There were some stunning individual performances on the weekend, and Sporting News has chosen the best of the best from the weekend's fixtures.

But, did we get it right?

Read on below to see for yourself.

1. ROGER TUIVASA-SHECK (NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS)

RTS has roared into Dally M favouritism on the back of some brilliant performances.

Lining up against Kalyn Ponga and Newcastle, the skipper broke 11 tackles, made two line breaks and ran a ridiculous 338 metres.

2. JARRYD HAYNE (PARRAMATTA EELS)

The Hayne-plane is well and truly back.

In the Eels demolition of St George Illawarra, Jarryd scored a hat-trick and ran over 150 metres.

3. CLINT GUTHERSON (PARRAMATTA EELS)

The Eels skipper played brilliantly at centre against the Dragons.

He scored a try and ran over 161 metres in the shock win.

4. JOSEPH MANU (SYDNEY ROOSTERS)

Easily Manu's best game of the year against the former ladder-leaders.

The Roosters youngster score an epic try and ran over 100 metres in the win that took the Tricolours over the Bunnies on the table.

5. ANTHONY DON (GOLD COAST TITANS)

Don is in some serious form currently for the Titans, and if it wasn't for the pesky Panthers and their comback-winning ways, Gold Coast would be able to credit Don for the two competition points.

Against Penrith he ran 270 metres, scored a try and broke five tackles.

6. BLAKE GREEN (NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS)

Welcome back to form Mr Green.

Against the Knights, Green played a masterful hand and even wound back the clock to score an epic try which can be seen in the video above.

7. MITCHELL MOSES (PARRAMATTA EELS)

Where have you been Mitchell?

What a game the young playmaker had against the hapless Red V. Moses scored a try, broke four tackles, had four try assists and a further two line break assists in the victory.

8. ADDIN FONUA-BLAKE (MANLY SEA EAGLES)

Fonua-Blake hasn't recieved the plaudits he deserves in 2018 due to the efforts of front row partner Martin Taupau, but he had a cracker in the victory over the Bulldogs.

Not only did the big man score a try, but he also broke seven tackles and ran over 150 metres.

9. ISSAC LUKE (NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS)

Luke proved he can still be one of the best rakes in the compeition in the victory over Newcastle.

In New Zealand, Issac ran 100 metres, made 28 tackles and had three offloads.

10. REAGAN CAMPBELL-GILLARD (PENRITH PANTHERS)

What a difference the NSW Blues player makes.

RCG had four offloads, two tackle breaks, a line break, made 155 metres and brought down Titans players on 32 ocassions.

11. BOYD CORDNER (SYDNEY ROOSTERS)

Remember before Origin when there were those pundits questioning the skipper's form?

We don't either. Against Souths, Cordner broke four tackles, ran over 90 metres and made 36 tackles of his own.

12. JOSEPH TAPINE (CANBERRA RAIDERS)

Tapine continued his good form in 2018 in the Green Machine's disappointing loss to Wests Tigers.

In the match, Tapine scored a double, broke 10 tackles and had three line breaks.

#Joseph Tapine

13. JASON TAUMALOLO (NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS)

This is the Jason Taumalolo/human wrecking ball that we know and love.

In the huge victory over the Broncos, Taumalolo ran over 280 metres, scored a try and broke seven tackles.
