Reserve grade returned over the weekend after rep round, with a number of standout performances.
Fringe NRL players in J'maine Hopgood and Braydon Trindall were among the standouts in NSW Cup, while some unfamiliar names helped their respective sides to victory in QLD Cup.
Here's who stood out in reserve grade in Round 16.
J'maine Hopgood - Penrith Panthers
A familiar name to NRL fans, Hopgood was among Penrith's best in their 24-20 win over North Sydney on Friday.
The lock forward played the entire 80 minutes for the Panthers, finishing with an impressive 23 carries for for 175 metres and four tackle breaks.
Hopgood was just as good without the ball in hand, finishing with a game-high 50 tackles and just one missed.
He also finished with more post-contact metres (61) than any other forward from either side.
Braydon Trindall - Newtown Jets
Another player with plenty of first grade experience under his belt already, Trindall was integral in the Jets' 28-16 win over Canterbury on the weekend.
Played in treacherous conditions at CommBank Stadium, the playmaker steered the Bluebags around the field and managed to cross for a try early in the second-half to give his side the lead.
Trindall finished with a try assist, a linebreak and a linebreak assist, as well as kicking four goals in he horror rain.
And with Nicho Hynes potentially away on Origin duties in Round 17, Trindall could get a chance in the Sharks side against Melbourne after a solid display in reserve grade.
Nick Tui-Loso - Northern Pride
These numbers are absolutely insane.
In a narrow win over Burleigh, Northern Pride prop Tui-Loso finished with an incredible 20 runs for 244 metres, despite only playing 54 minutes.
The front-rower compiled 117 post-contact metres, which was almost double the next best from either side.
Tui-Loso is a real handful with ball in hand and it's no surprise that he has already featured on this list earlier in 2022.
Denzel Burns - Ipswich Jets
Ipswich got themselves off the bottom of the QLD Cup ladder over the weekend, notching up a 36-18 victory over PNG Hunters.
And it was centre Denzel Burns who was the clear standout for the Jets, producing a blistering attacking display on his home deck.
Burns finished with two tries, 191 run metres, two linebreaks and a try assist as the Jets ran in seven tries on Saturday afternoon.
Setu Tu - Redcliffe Dolphins
Redcliffe were able to climb into the top-eight of the Q-Cup ladder this past weekend, holding on in a back-and-forth clash against Easts Tigers.
Setu Tu scored a hat-trick for the Dolphins, with his try in the 76th minute sealing the game for his side.
The winger also finished with 17 runs for 184 metres and a linebreak.
Cody Hunter's boot would also prove a major difference, slotting three conversions and two penalty goals in the 26-20 win.
