Melbourne Storm winger Suliasi Vunivalu evoked a furious reaction from Sydney Roosters captain Boyd Cordner after treading on the back-rower's hand at the Adelaide Oval on Friday.
The second grand final rematch was only 14 minutes old when Cordner charged into the Storm defence from a tap restart 40 metres out from his own try-line.
Dale Finucane rocked his NSW Origin skipper with a solid shot before Vunivalu came in after the tackle was completed and stood on Cordner's left mitt as he went to play the ball.

Cordner gave Vunivalu a verbal serve following the incident but it went unpunished by the match officials.

The moment was immediately noticed by Fox League commentator Matt Russell.
It's not the first time Vunivalu has caught attention for untoward tactics, having been suspended for an ugly leg pull on Canterbury back Nick Meaney earlier this season.
